Army+ launches course on organizing combat management of UAV units

A new training course “Organization of UAV combat management” has become available in the Army+ application. It is built on the practical experience of units that effectively use unmanned systems on the battlefield. The course will help you understand how to organize the work of a control point, coordinate crews of different types, interact with intelligence and related units, as well as collect and analyze the results of combat work. The training will primarily be useful for operational duty control points of unmanned systems units, their assistants, chiefs of staff and commanders. The course will also be suitable for servicemen who want to better understand the organization of UAV combat work.

What does the “Organization of UAV combat management” course teach?

The course consists of 5 modules and 15 lessons. In it, servicemen will learn:

  • how to organize a control point and the work of an operational duty officer and his assistant;
  • how to use DELTA, in particular the Monitor and Vezha modules to obtain and exchange information;
  • how to organize a common map, communication and interaction with crews and adjacent units;
  • how to conduct short, medium and long-range reconnaissance;
  • how to coordinate the work of FPV, heavy bomber and strike wing crews;
  • what to consider when managing combat in urban areas;
  • how to organize logistical support of combat positions;
  • what data to collect and how to analyze the results of the unit's work.

The course pays special attention to the interaction between crews and services. It is about how to build joint combat work: from obtaining information about the situation and choosing the right means to completing the task and analyzing the results.

The course was created on the basis of combat experience

The course was based on the practical experience of the Legion North unmanned systems battalion of the 44th separate mechanized brigade. Representatives of the 412th separate Nemesis unmanned systems brigade also participated in the creation of the training materials. The partner in creating the course is the public organization "Magura".

The course should help units that are developing the direction of unmanned systems to more quickly master the already developed approaches to organizing combat work.
