Mutual aid in "Army+": the Ministry of Defense and the NGO "Magura" have released a course on psychological support for military personnel

A new training course for military personnel has been launched in the "Army+" application - "Mutual aid in crisis situations". This project was created by the Department of Social Security of the Ministry of Defense and the Department of Psychological Support of the State Social Security Administration in partnership with the NGO "Magura" and the Center for Mental Health of the NaUKMA. The program is based on advanced training materials from specialists at the Akershus University Clinic (Norway).

What is the course about?

The training consists of five modules built on real practical examples. The program teaches military personnel:

  • to notice alarm signals and changes in the behavior of fellow soldiers in a timely manner.
  • to start a difficult conversation correctly - directly, but without pressure or condemnation.
  • to provide first psychological aid to the wounded and their loved ones.
  • understand the limit when civilian support is no longer enough and specialist intervention is needed.

The main thing: take care of your own emotional state while helping others.

Why is this critically important today?

On the battlefield and in crisis conditions, psychological resilience is no less important than tactical training. A timely conversation or a well-chosen word can save a life even before evacuation or hospitalization.

For the NGO "Magura", participation in this project is a strategic step. We are convinced that the tools of psychological self- and mutual help should be as accessible as possible. Thanks to the integration of the course into the "Army+" application, every soldier now has an effective support algorithm right in their smartphone.

We thank our partners for their cooperation and continue to keep the order!
